MECC towards a strengthened cooperation and partnership with

“The Churches Witnessing with Migrants” (CWWM)

Dr. Michel Abs, the Middle East Council of Churches Secretary-General, and Mrs. Seta Hadeshian, MECC’s Executive Assistant has responded to the call of “The Churches Witnessing with Migrants” (CWWM) organization, for an online meeting, that gathered a group of partners, Churches’ representatives, and leaders from many international and Middle Eastern organizations. This meeting was held in the context of the MECC humanitarian and service mission on all levels, especially through the work of the Department for the service of Palestinian refugees, Diakonia Department, and the Trauma Healing program.

Hence, since MECC has an active role in the Middle East in the relief and support for refugees, the CWWM representatives discussed with Dr. Michel Abs and Mrs. Seta Hadeshian the ways to build a partnership and develop future cooperation in joint projects, especially that the Middle East is witnessing the highest levels of displacement and refugee movements all over the years.

Therefore, it is worth noting that “The Churches Witnessing with Migrants” is an international tripartite platform composed of faith-based and international organization that are working on issues related to migration and human rights. Its mission is tackling all matters and affairs related to forced migration, displacement and immigration, and their repercussions in addition to defending the dignity and rights of the displaced people and refugees all around the world.
