HIGHLIGHTS
On 14 Feb, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 43 new cases of Coronavirus in Syria, and the recovery of 79 cases and the death of 3 of the recorded infections with the virus.
In GoS-controlled areas of the country,(as of 14 Feb), the Syrian Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 14863 Laboratory-confirmed cases, 978 fatalities, and 8679 Recoveries.
14863 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported by the Syrian MoH : 2894 in Damascus; 2245 in Homs; 2237 in Aleppo; 2076 in Lattakia; 1457 in Rural Damascus; 1124 in Tartous; 934 in Dar’a; 839 in Sweida; 708 in Hama; 248 in Quneitra; 59 in Deir-Ez-Zor; 35 in Al-Hasakeh and 7 in Ar-Raqqa.
Human Rights Watch stressed on Tuesday 2 February, the need to support international relief groups in order to ensure a wider and more equitable distribution of the emerging coronavirus vaccines throughout Syria, including in areas outside the control of the Syrian government.[2]

Highlights
The Health Ministry announced the arrival of the first batch of corona vaccines as vaccination started on the 14th of February. Vaccination began for the first category of beneficiaries of the first phase which are Lebanon’s medical staff treating corona patients.
During this reporting period, the average number of cases per day rose to 2,963.
The Minister of Public Health held a meeting with the World Bank and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, during which it was emphasized that the International Federation, funded by the World Bank from outside the loan allocated to Lebanon, would assume independent international control over the entire vaccination chain since the shipments arrived in Lebanon.
The Ministry of Public Health has designated the hotline number 1214 for citizens to inquire about the Coronavirus vaccine.
The Minister of Public Health and the Minister of Education and Higher Education announced in a joint press conference that the educational sector comes in priority after the health sector, as the health plan was presented to keep pace with the partial and gradual opening of the educational sector.
The Minister of Public Health announced that international partner organizations of the Ministry of Public Health have provided eighty thousand Antigen Rapid Tests to serve and protect the educational sector.
The meeting of the Committee for Follow-up of Preventive Measures and Procedures for Coronavirus, which was held on Friday 12/2/2021, issued new recommendations which can be viewed on http://drm.pcm.gov.lb/.
The Ministry of Economy and Trade, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, work to develop a financial stimulus plan for the commercial sector in light of the losses it suffered as a result of the Corona epidemic
It is still forbidden to go out and enter the streets and roads from five o'clock in the morning of 02/08/2021 until five in the morning of 02/22/2021 with the exception of some bodies, institutions and persons specified in the tables attached to the decision.
