MECC Attended the Gulf Churches Fellowship (GCF) Annual Meeting
The Middle East Council of Churches participated in the Gulf Churches Fellowship (GCF) annual meeting, after an absence of several years. It was attended by the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs and the MECC Executive Assistant Mrs. Seta Hadeshian. Noting that the Council is a founding member of the fellowship.
The GCF annual meeting was held online on January 24, 2022 and the agenda covered several matters including the review of the past years activities’ minutes, operational matters, financial reporting as well the election of new members for the Executive committee and the moderator.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Abs made an introduction about the MECC’s present
Vision and Mission and explained the future prospects of collaborating with Gulf Fellowship, especially in the domain of migrant workers plight for which MECC is planning projects and prospects of collaboration.
The meeting ended with a message from HE. Bishop Mesrob Sarkissian from the Armenian Orthodox Church, who thanked the members and vowed to serve the churches fellowship in due diligence.
The last word was for the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs who acknowledged the difficult task the fellowship is entitled to in the UAE countries however expressed his solidarity and readiness to cooperate for the coming years.
