Video - The Middle East Council of Churches… 50 years of Continuous Witness

On the occasion of the MECC 12th General Assembly and in preparation for the celebration of its golden jubilee, the MECC Communication and Public Relations Department presents a documentary entitled “The Middle East Council of Churches… 50 years of Continuous Witness”, highlighting the founding of the Council and the most prominent bright stations that MECC achieved through its ecumenical and humanitarian mission. Since 1974, MECC started a new ecumenical era in the Church of the East, spreading the spirit of fraternity and dialogue “Building Bridges, Standing Together”.

The documentary includes testimonies from Church leaders who accompanied the establishment of MECC and the important stations in its inception. They are R. Rev. Dr. Habib Badr, President of the National Evangelical Union in Lebanon and MECC Honorary President, H.E. Bishop Georges Saliba, the Curate of Mount Lebanon Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese, H.E. Archbishop Boulos Matar, Former Maronite Archbishop of Beirut, and Dr. Michel Abs, MECC Secretary General. The documentary was screened at the opening session of the General Assembly at the Papal Logos Center in Wadi El Natrun in Egypt.
