MECC Received the CEO of Embrace the Middle East and its Programmes and Partnerships Manager: For A More Effective Cooperation
In the context of strengthening a more sustainable partnership, the CEO of the International Humanitarian Organization “Embrace the Middle East” Tim Livesey, and the Programmes and Partnerships Manager in the organization Bruce Clark, visited the headquarters of the Middle East Council of Churches General Secretariat in Beirut, on Thursday, June 23, 2022. The MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs welcomed them alongside with the Council's Finance Director Manal Bechara Bou Habib and the Coordinator of the Beirut Office of the Council’s Service and Relief – Diakonia Department Nina Hallak.
During the visit, Dr. Michel Abs presented to the delegation a brief overview of the latest developments and current situations that the Middle East is passing through. He also tackled the urgent and basic needs that the people of the region are deprived from due to the social, economic, health and security crises they are facing. Thus, ways of supporting them to overcome the challenges were also discussed.
From his end, Bruce Clark stressed on exchanging experiences and opinions with the Council’s team in order to develop the work mechanisms and achieve the desired goals. He was also informed about the ongoing service and humanitarian programs, and the various projects that are planned to be implemented, aiming at preserving human dignity and rights. Hence, they discussed ways of cooperation and coordination to organize new and future programs.
