Father Rifaat Bader Visits the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs in Beirut

Father Rifaat Bader, the Head of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media and Publisher of Abouna Website, and Member of the Executive Committee of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), visited Dr. Michel Abs, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches, in his office at the MECC General Secretariat in Beirut, on Monday 22 January 2024. Father Bader came to Lebanon in order to participate in the Ecumenical Musical Event “Beirut 2024,” which was held on Saturday 20 January 2024, at the Forum de Beirut, on the occasion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and the Fiftieth Year of the MECC Founding.

During the meeting, the Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs and Father Rifaat Bader discussed the program of activities that will be held in celebration of the Fifty-Year Jubilee of the MECC Founding, in addition to the ongoing preparations for the meetings that will be held in this context. In addition, Dr. Abs and Father Bader talked about many Ecclesiastical and Ecumenical issues, as well as various media topics, as they stressed the necessity of strengthening the Ecumenical spirit and shedding light on the Ecumenical movement through the media in all its types. Father Bader also visited the offices of the MECC General Secretariat and met its team work.
