ACT Alliance General Assembly Addresses Current Social and Humanitarian Issues

Anticipation for Its Final Statements!

Participants Emphasize the Language of Love and the Importance of Solidarity Among Them

"As we represent the Church and are deeply rooted in our Christian values and universal human rights principles, we are called—now more than ever—to be beacons of hope and advocates of peace, justice, solidarity, equality, and inclusion."

With these words emanating from the depths of Christian faith and Jesus Christ's call to serve with love, the Fourth General Assembly of the global organization "ACT Alliance" prepares on its fourth day to issue final statements on urgent social and humanitarian issues after completing the review of their clauses and scrutinizing their content.

Therefore, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, ACT's regional forums held various meetings, each according to the region they belong to.

Participants studied the texts of the statements they had been working on in the previous period and exchanged suggestions and comments to present an updated version to the General Assembly.

But what is the content of these statements? What issues will they address?

In fact, ACT's statements will touch on current and essential issues related to the Palestinian cause, human rights, peace, human dignity, rights of people with disabilities, tax justice, climate change, youth, humanitarian response, gender justice, freedom, and migration.

On the other hand, the activities of the fourth day of the General Assembly included a session to approve the strategic direction file of the "ACT Alliance" organization, as well as the membership file, in addition to presenting and ratifying various administrative reports.

In conclusion, a cultural evening was held dedicated to the Latin America/Caribbean and North America regions, where their customs and traditions were presented in a distinctive artistic way.
