Launching of the Book “A Strive for a Fraternal Reconciliation in Antioch” with the Blessing and Patronage of His Beatitude Patriarch Youssef Al-Absi
The MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs Participates in the Book Launching Ceremony and Honoring His Eminence Bishop Youssef Kallas
His Beatitude Patriarch Youssef Al-Absi, Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), headed the launch ceremony of the book “A Strive for a Fraternal Reconciliation in Antioch,” and honoring His Eminence Bishop Youssef Kallas, former Metropolitan of Beirut, Byblos, and their dependencies. The ceremony was in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Beirut and Byblos and their Dependencies, the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Paul, and the Father Jean Corbon Foundation. It was held on Sunday 7 April 2024, at the “Liqaa” Center - Rabweh, Lebanon.
Attendees were the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon His Excellency Monsignor Paolo Borgia, representatives of Patriarchs, as well as Bishops and Spiritual Leaders, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Dr. Michel Abs, Ministers and Deputies, representatives of the security services, Heads of Syndicates, Judges, Diplomats, official personalities, the family of the celebrant, and interested people. As well as, attendees were Father Dr. Nicolas Bustros, the MECC Associate Secretary General, and Father Dr. Antoine Al Ahmar, the Director of the MECC Theological and Ecumenical Department.
The meeting included speeches delivered consecutively by Father Marwan Sayde, General President of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Paul, Father Gaby Hachem, Director of the Father Corbon Foundation, His Beatitude Patriarch Youssef Al-Absi, and His Eminence Bishop Youssef Kallas.
