Patriarch Aphrem II: This car bomb blast creates an atmosphere of anxiety and disorder, yet Christians should remain in their historical homeland

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II denounced the terrorist blast that took place today July 11, 2019 in front of St. Mary Syriac Orthodox Church in Qamishly.
Upon hearing the news, His Holiness called His Eminence Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeerah and Euphrates who confirmed to him that the priests and faithful in the church are safe.
His Holiness condemned this terroristic act which aims at creating an atmosphere of anxiety and disorder to shake the security, stability and coexistence in the city of Qamishly and the entire region.
Moreover, His Holiness thanked the Lord for the safety of the members of the church as well as all the citizens of Qamishly. He prayed for the quick recovery of all who were injured in the blast. His Holiness implored the blessings of the Lord on Qamishly and all the cities of Syria, hoping that the crisis will end soon and peace and security will return to Syria.
