COVID-19 gathered the General Secretaries of REOs in an online global meeting

The worsening emergency situation stemming from the coronavirus outbreak has pushed the Regional Ecumenical Organizations (REO) to increase their efforts in order to help and rescue all communities around the world, while working together as a fellowship of churches.

Therefore, Dr. Souraya Bechealany, MECC General Secretary, has responded to the call of Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, the World Council of Churches' General Secretary, for a Skype meeting, on March 20, 2020, that gathered all the REOs General Secretaries, to discuss how our churches are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the REOs General Secretaries will issue a global statement to share the decisions taken during the meeting, concerning the novel coronavirus pandemic which threatens all humanity.
