Momentum, the Weekly Newsletter from the Middle East Council of Churches

In the new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Middle East Council of Churches, the Council invites you to participate in the “Season of Creation” celebration which will be held on Monday 26 October 2022, at 6 P.M, in the Redeemer Church for the Arab Evangelical Episcopal Church in Jabal Amman, Jordan. As well as, MECC invites you to participate in the Ecumenical Prayer Service at the “Season of Creation” closing, on Monday 3 October 2022, at 6 P.M, in the Church of the Patriarchal Edifice in Bkerke, Lebanon. As for the weekly message of the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, it is entitled “Peace, Racism and the Future of Humanity”, on the occasion of the International Day of Peace on 21 September.

In the issue, you can also find a news and pictures about the Holy Mass, presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop to His Beatitude His Grace, the Right Reverend Bishop Mousa Al-Khasi, at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Damascus, Syria, on Sunday 18 September 2022. It was part of the series of celebrations organized by MECC, in partnership with “Danmission” organization, in the Middle East, on the occasion of the season. In the same context, the issue includes a series of videos and video podcasts about the “Season of Creation” and many environmental and Christian topics, produced by the MECC Communication and Public Relations Department.

The issue includes an invitation from MECC for its third monthly webinar entitled “Third Age: On Endangered Human Dignity And The Need For Reintegration”, on Thursday 29 September 2022, at 7 P.M. On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, the issue includes an article entitled “On the International Day of Peace, 21 September, A Salute to the Peacemakers, But…!”.

As well as, the issue presents news about the activities of the MECC General Secretariat, the Council’s regional Office in Jordan, the Communication and Public Relations Department, and the programs of the Service and Relief – Diakonia, Beirut’s Office.
