Extreme Unction and Funeral Service for the Departed Father Anania Koudjanian

With the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, the extreme unction and funeral service for the departed Father Anania Koudjanian was held on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025. Fr. Anania tragically fell victim to a violent crime on the morning of February 1st in Lebanon.

The final unction took place at Sourp Boghos Church in Ainjar with His Eminence Archbishop Shahe Panosian, Prelate of Lebanon, conducting the service, and with the participation of the Cilician Brotherhood, Prelacy priests, priest from other churches, parishioners, and many faithful. During the ceremony, prayers were offered, and Fr. Anania’s body was lifted to the Holy Altar for its final anointing. Finally, according to the tradition of the Armenian Church, the brotherhood paid their respects by offering their farewell kiss to the deceased…
